Cassandra Schoene is a student at Drake University. There she majors in a BFA Theatre Acting and Multimedia Journalism, with a minor in Environmental Science. She is also a Drake cheerleader and occasionally writes for the student-led newspaper, The Times-Delphic. You can read articles she has written for them so far here.
Schoene is from Creve Coeur, Missouri (St. Louis County), which is 30 minutes from Downtown St. Louis. She has lived there her entire life, along with her grandparents, aunt and uncle, and cousins- all of which live on the same street!
Her favorite place in St. Louis is Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park, where she goes on walks and bike rides with her family, and goes canoeing or does photoshoots with friends.

Her full name is Cassandra Lyn Therese Schoene. Her middle name “Lyn” is named after her Godmother and older cousin, Kaitlyn. Her 2nd middle name is her confirmation saint, St. Therese of Lisieux “The Little Flower”. She is confirmed in the Roman Catholic church. Her last name is an Americanized spelling of the German word for Beautiful, which her German ancestors changed when they came over to America during World War l and ll. And her first name is Cassandra simply because her parents thought it was pretty. However, it is a Greek name meaning “helper of mankind”, so she takes that as a sign of her purpose.
Schoene is passionate about a lot of things including the environment, animal rights, civil rights, prison reform, education reform, the arts, and is overall curious about everything. Her favorite quote is “Curiosity killed the cat…but satisfaction brought it back.” Due to her love of animals and nature, she is vegan.
Her current profession is a student at Drake University, writer for the Times-Delphic, and manager at the vegan Indian fusion restaurant Bombay Food Junkies.
Schoene has big dreams for her future professions and often states she wants to “be Barbie” because she wants to do everything. These include being a character at Disney, a flight attendant to travel the world, a film actress, an investigative journalist for environmental issues, a business owner, a key member of society for reform, and more. Additionally, she will always have that childhood dream of being a princess. Being so career-focused, she feels strongly for friendships and family relationships, but doesn’t really care for romantic relationships. She doesn’t want a small-town life, but wants to make her mark on the world.
